Raising Awareness
Young Hornbill Guardians
We believe raising awareness is essential to conservation. At Baan Nam Chued School, we are co-leading a program with local community members, school teachers, and Khun Yon called Young Hornbill Guardian. This program educates over 60 students from 1st to 6th grade at the school about the hornbills. This program inspires, raises awareness, and fosters sustained conservation within the community. We help plan, organize, create lessons, and educate these students. This program consists of six lessons that lay the groundwork for the basics of the hornbills, their life cycle, the importance of artificial nests, their role in the community, and more. Within these lessons, community members and hornbill researchers are invited to share their experiences and stories, empowering the younger generation.

Storybook Activity
We empower students to become storytellers by teaching them to brainstorm, plan, create, and illustrate their own stories related to the hornbills.
