Visit to Khao Yai National Park with a researcher from the Thailand Hornbill Research Foundation and a park ranger
DECEMBER 2024
Completed the first artificial nest prototype, constructed from hemp fiber reinforced with virgin resin.
JUNE 2024
First meeting with hornbill researchers from the Thailand Hornbill Research Foundation and material scientists from TOA Venture Holding (TOAVH) to develop a novel artificial nest using sustainable materials.

Installed 20 artificial nests on Yao Noi Island, Southern Thailand.

Launched the Young Hornbill Guardians environmental education program at Baan Nam Chued School, educating 60+ students.

Presented Homes for Hornbills at the Hornbill Nest Management Webinar hosted by Kasetsart University.
SEPTEMBER 2025
Completed the 12-minute Homes for Hornbills documentary, documenting the project's conservation, innovation, and community education efforts.

14 hornbill chicks successfully fledged from Homes for Hornbills’ artificial nests.
AUGUST 2025
Returned to Yao Noi Island and expanded the Young Hornbill Guardians program to 100+ additional students.

Homes for Hornbills documentary received the Greener Living Short Film Award at the tve Global Sustainability Film Awards 2025.
NOVEMBER 2025
Homes for Hornbills begins collaborating with Dr. Supakij Suttiruengwong, an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Silapakorn University.
DECEMBER 2025
Completed the second-generation artificial nest prototype, replacing virgin fossil-fuel-based resin with resin derived from chemically upcycled plastic bottles.
FEBRUARY 2026
The Homes for Hornbills documentary began streaming on Thai PBS’s VIPA.

Homes for Hornbills ranked among the 10 most-viewed programs on Thai PBS’s VIPA platform in February 2026.

21 additional hornbill chicks successfully fledged from artificial nests on Yao Noi Island.

Raised ฿385,000 (~US$11,600) via a Taejai crowdfunding campaign to fund the construction and installation of 10 large artificial nests.

Homes for Hornbills Founder named the Earth Prize 2026 Regional Winner for Oceania & Southeast Asia, receiving a $12,500 grant.

Installed three artificial nests at Hala Bala Wildlife Sanctuary in Narathiwat, Thailand.

Homes for Hornbills Founder Named a Top Honors Award Recipient in the National Geographic Slingshot Challenge 2026, receiving a $10,000 grant.

Completed My Wild Wonder Journal, a free bilingual Thai-English nature journal, now incorporated into the Young Hornbill Guardians curriculum.

Presented partnership proposals to Anantara Yao Yai, AVANI+ Koh Lanta, and Royal Phuket Marina to explore collaborations in hornbill conservation and environmental education.
